Earl L. Cousino, 70 of Erie, MI, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Born, May 23, 1944 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Bernard and Lucille (Sulier) Cousino. A 1962 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central, he married Peg Meier on October 1, 1971. Earl served his country in the US Army, during the Vietnam War. He managed with his brother, the family farm, BL Cousino, Inc. Earl also held a real estate license for the past 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, where he was a Eucharist Minister. He served on the Board of Directors for the I.S.D. for almost 40 years. Earl was an avid hunter and was a founding member of the Baycreek Hunting Club in Erie, MI. He was also a member of the Monroe Club, Knights of Columbus, Council 7413, and a past board member for the Red Cross in Monroe, MI. Earl was known to all as a caring loving gentle man who was constantly working to help his family and friends. He was known for his generosity to many local organizations, especially St. Joseph Catholic Parish and school and St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peg. Children, Andrea (Matt) Gleva of Indianapolis, IN, Bernard (Julie) Cousino of Temperance, MI and Kathryn (Matt) Lauck of Chicago, IL. Brother, Neil (Joy) Cousino of Erie, MI. Sisters, Carole (Don) Wielosinski of Temperance, MI, Lois (Mohammad) Nozari of St. Paul, MN and Mary Etta (Peter) Hartwick of Ashville, NC. Grandchildren, Ethan, Alexander, Jacob, Lauren and Lucy. Earl was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan Blvd., Erie, MI 48133, where he will lie in state after 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to SMCC or St. Joseph Educational Fund. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
